Decks & Outdoor Living
Built to handle Rhode Island weather, finished to look like you planned it. New deck construction, staining, refinishing, railing installation, and repairs — built for the freeze-thaw cycle and the salt air that come with living in Rhode Island.
Built for New England conditions
A deck in Rhode Island takes more abuse than most people realize. The freeze-thaw cycle works on every fastener and joint, the summer sun bakes the south face, and if you're near the coast the salt air accelerates everything. A deck that's built right and finished right handles all of it — the framing is sized and spaced for the load, the fasteners are rated for the exposure, and the finish protects the wood instead of just making it look good for a season.
We build new decks from the framing up, and we bring old decks back to life with sanding, staining, and structural repair where it's needed. Whether it's a covered porch, an open entertainment deck, or a small landing off the back door, the detail that matters is what you don't see — the ledger connection to the house, the joist spacing, the flashing that keeps water from running down the wall behind the deck board. We get those right, then make the visible part look the way you want it.

Four reasons to call us
Framing and fasteners are rated for Rhode Island's freeze-thaw and coastal exposure.
Staining is done right — prep, prime coat, finish coat — not just rolled on over dirty wood.
Structural problems are found and fixed before the surface work covers them up.
One crew handles the framing, the finish, and the railing under one estimate.

Decks & Outdoor Living — answered
In Rhode Island, every two to three years depending on sun exposure and whether you're near the coast. South-facing decks and waterfront properties need it more often. We'll tell you what your deck needs when we look at it.
Often a targeted repair is all you need. If the framing is sound and only a handful of boards are damaged, we'll replace those and refinish the surface. If the joists or posts are soft, we'll tell you before we start.
It depends on your budget and the exposure. Pressure-treated lumber is the standard for framing and works well for decking with regular staining. Composite decking costs more up front but needs less maintenance. We'll walk you through the options at the estimate.
